International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 17, No. 1, 1996

Abstract: In this work, the development procedure allows optimization of the vehicle oscillatory parameters taking into consideration constructive constraints and the constraints set by the position of resonant points of the human-vehicle system and the effect of vibrations on humans. A nonlinear vehicle model with semi-active suspension was used and optimized by Hooke-Jeeves method. The optimal values for the oscillatory parameters improved the oscillatory comfort and handling of the given vehicle model, and at the same time gave stable characteristics of the semiactive suspension.
