Technical Report: German company examples of excellent quality management

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to provide some examples of excellent quality management systems and techniques as they pertain to German companies. An introduction is given defining the quality of education and training which serves as an underlining basis to which German companies achieve quality. Overall, the paper covers five German companies and describes examples of quality management from each one. These five companies cover different industries; and their scope of operations can be specifically in Germany, or Europe and the rest of the world. The final portion of this paper gives overviews of why and how Germany and Japan have been successful, and also provides factors that contrast the management philosophies between German/Japanese firms to those of the United States.
