A definition of influence of quasi-random and repeated shock vibrations on human fatigue

Abstract: Mechanical vibrations in transportation result in fatigue of humans exposed to them. Most often they are random and shock vibrations, and rarely of harmonic character. This paper attempts to define character of equal perception curve for quasi-random and repeated shock vibration loads based on investigation of the walking process. The starting point was an already accepted and proven hypothesis: 'Vibration loads of human body in transportation means must be lower than those occurring in the process of normal walking'. The results indicate higher human sensitivity to repealed shocks than to quasi-random vibrations at about 15 Hz, and can be used for defining recommendations for assessing the influence of these vibrations on human fatigue.
