A contribution to optimisation of vehicle seats

International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 12, No. 5/6, 1991

Abstract: In this work, which is based on research supported by the Scientific Foundation of Serbia, optimisation of oscillatory parameters of a seat with hydraulic feedback was done from the aspect of mutual minimisation of the vertical vibrations of the human body and the dynamic forces between the seat frame and the body. Optimisation was done by using the Hooke-Jeeves method, using the hydraulic seat model and taking into consideration the sensitivity of the human body to vibrations. The developed method can be standardised and applied to other seat models.
