Recent developments in steel products for automotive applications

Abstract: This paper reviews recent developments in steels for motor car manufacture and the applications of these steels in the automotive industry. The following items are discussed: hot and cold rolled steel sheets including high strength steel sheets, vibration damping steel sheets, laminated steel sheets, various coated steel sheets and structural specialty steels such as free cutting steel and wire rods for suspension springs.
