Types of kinematic connections of two-simple planetary three-gear trains

International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 11, No. 3, 1990

Abstract: This paper presents general consideration of types of kinematic connections of two-simple planetary three-gear trains. For these types of kinematic connections of two-simple planetary three-gear trains the basic equations of train values have been developed by using the general equation of motion for planetary and standard gear trains (Krstich, 1985a, and 1985b). It is pointed out that there are five different ways of kinematic connections of two-simple spur or bevel planetary three-gear trains and at the same time there are five basic equations of train values as well. These types of kinematic connections of two-simple planetary three-gear trains and their basic equations of train values will aid designers and analysts in determining correct train values of these types of planetary gear train configurations.
