Plastic elements in and around the engine
by J. Rabe
International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 11, No. 3, 1990

Abstract: This paper is intended to demonstrate how important very small plastic components can be - components which are hidden away inside the engine and carry out vital functions. These help to solve technical problems which could not be solved with conventional metal components. Frequently, they help to reduce production costs and they also prevent premature wear or damage within the car's or engine's lifespan.
