A modern concept for the digital control of hydraulic gears
by W. Marner, M. Ulm
International Journal of Vehicle Design (IJVD), Vol. 10, No. 5, 1989

Abstract: The paper describes a new concept for the speed control of a vehicle by means of an infinitely variable hydraulic gear. The hydraulic gear consists of a central pressure generating unit, a pressure lining system and several hydraulic motors. The speed is controlled by a variation of the motor displacement (secondary control). The mathematical background of the gear system and the proposed control concept is presented. Experimental results derived for a pilot plant are discussed.
