Abstract: Successful product development is a consequence of effective integration between design, manufacture and production engineering. Failure to recognize any of these factors is likely to result in major problems in subsequent efforts to convert designs into production parts. The most advanced, computer-based design analysis capabilities have very limited value if they are not matched with existing or planned manufacturing facilities.
