The optimization of an extremely light cast aluminium wheel rim

Abstract: This article outlines the need to produce a wheel, whose manufacturing costs would enable competitive pricing, for a newly developed vehicle. The wheel had to be as light as possible and both safe and durable. An aluminium wheel manufactured by low pressure die casting was considered to be appropriate.
