Abstract: This article presents an overview of electronic braking systems using SR (Switched Reluctance) machines. The advantages presented by this structure when compared to the conventional hydraulic systems are discussed. A justification for the choice of the SRM as a valid candidate is provided, with a detailed analysis of its control structure and performance. Experimental results obtained using a digital signal processor are also presented.
