International Journal of Management in Education (IJMIE), Vol. 8, No. 2, 2014

Abstract: In this study, the differences among tourists' educational levels regarding environmental concern were tested; a random sample of 286 tourists filled a survey that included indices of the following concepts: value orientations, awareness of consequences, ascription of responsibility and willingness to take a positive behaviour. F-test results show significant differences among educational levels in most of observed variables. Results initiate the necessity to enhance the role of both formal and non-formal education in spreading the awareness about the value and fragility of archaeological sites, also inducing feelings of respect and responsibility toward them.
