Abstract: By adopting the DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis Method), the aim of this paper is to study the evolvement of agriculture production technical efficiency during 1990-2010 from the perspective of time evolvement and its difference among each distinctive district and county in 2010 in terms of special difference in Mianyang city. The results show that the overall level of growth rate of agriculture production efficiency is not high because of redundancy in agricultural production factors and low-technology content. Therefore, it is necessary to transform the extensive style to intensive style, optimise the agricultural structure for the agricultural development to high yield, high quality, and high efficiency, speed up the agriculture science and technology transformation and application, perfect agricultural technology system, and further promote the agricultural modernisation.
