Web-centric business process modelling
by Albert Rainer
International Journal of Electronic Business (IJEB), Vol. 2, No. 5, 2004

Abstract: This document describes a framework for modelling business processes based on web services. Web services provide standardised means of communication among different software applications. The architecture and a demonstration process will be presented. Architecture and demonstration processes have been implemented to study several aspects of web-centric process modelling and execution. It will be shown how web services defined in the web service description format are mapped into modelling elements and the output of the model. Problems regarding the representation of web services as graphical elements within a business process and validation of models against a specification will be addressed.
