Green synthesis of hospital enterprise network

Abstract: We present a novel capacity planning tool, which is capable of synthesising a hospital enterprise network (HEN) to carry on telemedicine applications. The telemedicine provides an online integration between various clinical and non-clinical departments to speed up the services offered to the patients. The green synthesis is the process to optimise the integration of a system with reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emission. We have formulated HEN's capacity planning problem as an optimisation problem within molecular assembly (MA), with an objective function is to reduce GHG emissions at the backbone subject to design and performance constraints. The simulation results for an HEN comprising of 50 nodes demonstrate the feasibility of capacity planning tool to reduce GHG emission by 21%. Also, the outcome of MA outperformed genetic algorithm (GA) with 11% reduction in GHG emissions.
