Abstract: The experimental investigation of temperature effect on the discharge of pollutants in catalytic boilers was carried out in this paper. The comparison of flame and catalytic combustion revealed the advantages of catalytic combustion from the viewpoint of less NOx discharge that was connected with the fact that in catalytic boilers the reaction took a course in the isothermal process. The optimal conditions of minimal NOx discharge were found in experiments with different composition and content of catalyst for the different fuels and were explained theoretically. The influence of temperature on NOx discharge for chromium oxide catalyst was also investigated, and it was found that the intensive effect of temperature took place, when t > 800°C. The effect of excess air α on the NOx concentration and the temperature in catalytic chamber was also studied for the different catalysts, and the corresponding recommendations were given.
