Abstract: A finite element model of planetary gear pair for a new type wind turbine gearbox was built to conduct the simulation of dynamic process of planetary gear pair based on the nonlinear contact theory and explicit dynamic theory. On the basis of the finite element model, the influence of the variation in operating parameters such as revolution speed, load torque and friction coefficient on the carrying capacity of planetary gear pair was analysed. The research showed that, the impacts of the operating parameters on the dynamic characteristics of contact surface and non-contact surface were significantly different. The result provided useful guidance for the dynamic design of planetary gear pair.
