The analysis of energy-related CO₂ emissions from 1950 to 2000

Abstract: This study analyses energy-related CO₂ emissions in the world from 1950 to 2000 based on the estimated CO₂ emissions statistics. The results suggest that decrease in the index of CO₂/WFFC (WFFC – World Fossil Fuel Consumption), CO₂ emission intensity and per capita CO₂ emissions are necessary but not sufficient conditions for realising the human target of the improvement of environmental quality. Only if the decrease reaches a certain level, will they become sufficient conditions. The Rio environment target and the Kyoto Protocol are correct measures but only partial steps as the target for total CO₂ emissions should be much lower.
