Abstract: By taking hesitation degree of intuitionistic fuzzy sets into consideration, we give a new version of similarity measure for intuitionistic fuzzy sets in this paper, called hesitation degree-based similarity measure. This new similarity measure exhibits many good properties which can be seen from the mathematical investigation as well as the comparison of the new similarity with other existing similarity measures, especially the cosine similarity measure for intuitionistic fuzzy sets proposed by Ye. Also, we make an investigation of the distance measure from the viewpoint of radian, and then propose the weighted hesitation degree-based similarity measure, which can be seen as a generalisation of the hesitation degree-based similarity measure.
