Abstract: In this paper, detection of QRS complex in Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal based on Autocorrelation and Hilbert transform (HT) is proposed. The autocorrelation method is used to determine the duration of one cardiac cycle of ECG signal and HT method is applied to detect the R-peaks point in ECG signal. The proposed algorithm is evaluated on MIT-BIH arrhythmia database and achieves a detection error rate of 0.12%, sensitivity of 99.93% and positive prediction of 99.95%. The proposed method shows better performance as compared to other two established techniques like Pan-Tompkins method and the technique that uses the Difference Operation Method (DOM).
