Abstract: The text presents the results of a research focused on the stages of the professional careers of school head teachers in the Czech Republic. Using a qualitative research methodology, it suggests that several distinct stages can be identified in the professional careers of school head teachers, each of them having specific features as well as also implications for the support of the school head teachers' work.
