Abstract: Travel mode structure optimisation is the intervention on travel behaviour. The existing theory and method of travel mode structure optimisation ignore the research about traveller's acceptance level and behaviour change, which makes optimal objective difficult to be achieved. Starting from the basic theory of behaviour change, the basic model of travel behaviour change is constructed. Acceptance level is the determinant factor of travel behaviour change. The theoretical mathematical model of travel mode structure optimisation is presented and the model of travel behaviour change is used for travel mode structure optimisation. The macro-model of travel mode structure optimisation, which is based on the theory of travel behaviour change, is constructed. Traveller acceptance model for intervention measure is constructed and empirical research is carried out in Jiaozuo city. The result indicates that the theory of travel mode structure optimisation considering traveller's acceptance level has better applicability.
