International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management (IJEIM), Vol. 4, No. 4, 2004

Abstract: Links among innovation strategy, competitive advantages and employment are discussed in this paper. Evidence is drawn from a multistage research project run during 2001–2002 and promoted by CNEL. In the first stage, a sample of 223 innovative industrial and service companies was asked around the following main topics: innovation types and innovativeness degree; implications of the innovations on competitiveness and employment; innovation management models; and correlations between models and implications. In the second stage, ten in-depth case studies were developed. The results of the above stages were submitted to a critical analysis of 281 company managers and experts through a dedicated opinion survey. The main results of the first stage are discussed.
