An informal introduction to basic concepts of aerodynamics: part II: thin airfoils and wings in incompressible fluid flows

Abstract: This paper is a sequel of part I. Here, thin airfoil theory for thickness and lifting problems are presented in terms of velocity components due to two dimensional source and vortex distributions. Flows around bodies of revolution are also treated using three dimensional sources and effects of small angle of attack are considered using cross flow analysis. Low and high aspect ratio wings are studied with different approximations. Viscous effects are included using velocity/vorticity formulation as well.
