Abstract: A magnetic field was applied to multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) decorated with Fe3O4 nanoparticles while being spray coated on copper substrates to obtain a preferred orientation. The Fe3O4-MWNTs hybrid materials were aligned vertical or horizontal on the copper substrate and their electrical and thermal transport properties were investigated. The electrical and thermal transport properties showed that the vertical alignment of Fe3O4-MWNTs on the copper substrate was achieved, while the horizontal alignment was less successful.
