Abstract: The main challenge in the development of future wireless communication systems is to provide users with a wide range of services across different radio access technologies through a single mobile terminal, while maintaining the quality of service requirements. In recent works worldwide interoperability in microwave access is considered suitable as a backhaul service to connect multiple dispersed wireless fidelity 'hotspots'. Hence a new integrated WiMAX/WiFi networks has been proposed. Here two network models for integrating IEEE 802.16 with IEEE 802.11 to achieve QoS are proposed. First model is used to simulate QoS parameters such as throughput, delay, load and network convergence activity for inter-worked architecture of WiMAX and WiFi for data transfer analysis. Second model is used to simulate QoS parameters such as various delays, WiMAX mobility and packet loss of WiMAX uplink/downlink for voice transfer and mobility analysis and Opnet 14 is used for simulation.
