The impact of supply chain performance drivers and value chain on companies: a case study from the food industry in Jordan

Abstract: Supply chain management has been a major section of competitive strategy to improve organisational productivity and profitability commanding companies to participate in a constantly changing environment. Whereas, a value chain defines the stages in which an organisation must have in order to be successful in general, and in launching new products to the market. This research is conducted to study the supply chain performance drivers, and the value chain, and to evaluate their implementation and the effect they have on companies. It first explains the supply chain performance drivers as well as the value chain, then presents a single case study which, has been conducted to check the effect of supply chain performance on the organisation's success, and finally illustrates that in order for a firm to be successful, a good supply chain performance must be implemented and maintained along with having relevant coordination and information sharing in the value chain stages.
