Managing effective learning with higher education research students: minimising outcome measurement, maximising educational output

Abstract: This study provides a clear understanding of research students' perception on classroom teaching techniques and on understanding of research techniques. A questionnaire has been designed to measure "frequency, effectiveness, enjoyment and should be used". The Reliability test (Cronbach's alpha) of SPSS demonstrates that there is a high internal consistency of statements. Correlation results show that students' higher level of learning shall be built on developing lower level of learning. The results are supported by the Rasch Model "Item/Person Misfit Order Table". The questionnaire as a whole appears to be a reliable measure of teaching effectiveness and measuring students' understanding of research techniques.
