Abstract: Internet of things (IoT) applications are developed and implemented through enlightened communication networks. The phenomena are proving a fact that research in IoT architecture becomes important domain in realising IoT framework. Therefore, in this paper, a new IoT architecture is proposed combining two sophisticated communication networks: power line communication (PLC) and 3G mobile networks. This combination is motivated by scalability advantages of PLC and 3G mobile networks. Further, the 3G-PLC networks testbed is constructed and analysed to show its feasibility in supporting IoT applications.
