Abstract: Storing land data using current methods results in several issues: (a) inaccurate design of land use districts on land registry and cadastre maps, (b) difficulty of discovering non-granted lands, (c) need to physically visit offices to obtain legal land regulation information, and (d) the lack of ready availability of this information. The integration of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with e-government creates g-government, which can contribute solutions for these land-related issues; however, few applications available today provide this integration. The current study sought to design and develop a Mobile Land Information System (MLIS) that could contribute to meeting rising demands for land management, administration, and planning. The study concluded that, despite inconsistency in the level of integration and implementation of GIS and e-government, combining these technologies results in increased governmental efficiency, reduced financial loss, and improved customer satisfaction.
