Abstract: Capacity-building is essential to sustainable environmental and natural resources management and fast-paced socio-economic transformation. Capacity-building requires the involved commitment of individuals, community organisations, private businesses, academic institutions, governmental agencies, and other stakeholders. As population and the corresponding demand on environmental and natural resources has increased, the need for sustainable resources management capacity-building has become critical in Nepal. This paper underscores environmental and natural resources capacity-building as an approach to achieving sustainable resource management and socio-economic transformation of Nepal. It also views capacity-building as an ongoing process even as the nation prospers socially and economically.
