Abstract: Control chart is a well-known device for achieving statistical control in a process. Traditional control chart has been established based on the assumption of normality. In many practical situation assumption of normality is violated. Under these situations, the use of traditional control chart gives erroneous conclusion. For handling non-normal data one approach is use of non-parametric control charts which are not so efficient. Another approach is to use generalised distribution. In this work, we will show how generalised lambda can be used to handle non-normal data.
