Managing migrant workers' job satisfaction: evidence from a manufacturing company in Malaysia

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to examine and gain a better understanding of the impact of human resource practices on migrant workers' job satisfaction. Ninety migrant workers (52 Bangladeshi and 38 Nepalese) participated in this study. Data were obtained using questionnaires and analysed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS). Statistical analysis using regression analysis found that, among the independent variables, employee compensation was found to have an impact on migrant workers' job satisfaction. t-test results also revealed that Nepalese migrant workers who possess only primary education have higher job satisfaction.
