Abstract: In order to study the contact stress of the coating system, the numerical simulation was carried out by the wavelet finite element method. Firstly, the wavelet finite element formula of the coating system was analysed. And then entity model of the coating system was established, and the boundary conditions and Hertz pressure were defined, and then the effect of the component of the Al2O3 on the thermal stress was analysed, and the results obtained from the wavelet finite element method and traditional finite element method were obtained, results showed that the wavelet finite element had higher precious and efficient, and finally the effect of the thickness of the coating on thermal stress was analysed.
