Abstract: Today, countries such as Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands require compliance under the standard EN 12642-XL to load and unload trucks, semi-trailers and curtainsiders in their territory. Compliance under these regulations is a problem for manufacturers of semi-trailers and trucks due to the difficulty of modifying their models to the standard requirements. This paper shows the process developed in collaboration with the semi-trailers and semi-curtainsiders LECIÑENA S.A. and the research group 'New Technologies Applied on Vehicles and Road Safety' (VEHIVIAL), in the numerical and experimental analysis of a semi-curtainsiders, which has obtained an optimal model of a semi-curtainsider under the standard EN 12642-XL.
