Abstract: Presently, the biomass gasification and centralised gas-supply system fed by crop stalks is still at the stage of development and research in China. The purifier of the system has some problems such as huge device, low purifying efficiency, and poor disposal of tar causing secondary pollution. For this reason, the distillate range, calorific value, ignition temperature, flash point and viscosity of the raw tar and tar distillate samples are analysed and studied in this paper. From the experimental results, the resources-utilisation way of biomass tar from crop stalks and the key technology of biomass gas purification may be found.
