Abstract: The paper is a contribution to the development of the flotation separation area, concerning in the proposal of new atypical collectors (anti and sin 2-hydroxy-3,5-di-tert-butyl-benzaldoxime) for the metallic ions separation from diluted aqueous systems. A case study (R%) was studied and the optimal parameters were established. The insoluble species of Cu(II), isolated by flotation were characterised by physical-chemical methods, for establishing the Cu(II)-collector interaction. The experimental results showed the efficiency of both collectors for Cu(II) removal (%R∼100). This systematic research based on structure-properties-floatability correlation, allow to these atypical collectors to be also tested for other metallic ions.
