Abstract: Globally, initiatives to improve the economic, political and social environment by implementing meaningful employment laws date back to the early 19th century. In the regional economic integration process, countries are encouraged to trade with other countries that have fair labour legislation. In this context, this paper will discuss the Economic Impact Index (EII) of the ERP (2007). This paper largely focuses on the economic implications of the ERP (2007) on the private sector of the Fiji Islands.
