Abstract: Patient-specific orthopaedic implant design, fabrication and surgical fixation techniques are challenging one to the surgeons. In this work, a CAD model of human tibia bone and an implant are developed from a Computed Tomography (CT) data. Numerical simulation has been performed for the two surgical fixation procedures such as: all the holes in the implant are screwed; alternate holes are screwed for a simple longitudinal fracture at proximal tibia bone. The mechanical behaviour such as stress, strain and deflection of cortical bone, implant and bone-implant interfaces are evaluated using Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
