Wireless trust: conceptual and operational definition

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to define and operationalise a construct – wireless trust – to guide investigation of perceived user trust in a wireless mobile environment and its possible impacts on user acceptance. An instrument was developed based on a thorough review of related literature. To operationalise this construct, data were collected online from 357 MBA students during the academic year 2002–2003. Structural equation modelling procedures were followed to test the model fit for data analysis. The overall model fit for wireless trust is excellent. Research implications and recommendations for further research are discussed for adoption in user acceptance research in the domain of wireless internet via mobile technology.
