Abstract: Chemically modified silica containing ?SiH groups were used for the synthesis of palladium nanoparticles by reduction of palladium nitrate solution in mild conditions. Thermogravimetric analysis and IR-spectroscopy were applied for characterisation of hydridesilica and for studying of a process of formation of palladium nanoparticles. For the confirmation of metal particles formation X-ray diffraction, UV-vis spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) were used.
