Abstract: In this paper, a modular approach is investigated – an educational response to the fundamental characteristics and requirements of the new era, whose main determinants are globalisation and networking, rapid technological development, information-based economy and the rapid obsolescence of information and knowledge. Education is one of the most important factors responsible for the development of society and its adaptation to changes brought by the information age is very important. In order to successfully achieve this adjustment, it is not enough to only change and update the content. It is equally important to make changes in teaching forms and methods. Modern education requires a new model of learning – active learning based on real-world information resources.
