Effective trailer transport operations: using information sharing
by Henrik Sternberg
International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management (IJLSM), Vol. 10, No. 1, 2011

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to present and validate a model for information sharing, enabling effective trailer transport operations. It is based on an extensive information requirements study involving all the actors in an international transport setup. An in-depth study of the involved actors was carried out and the requirements of effective transport operations were extracted through interviews, observations and transport document studies. This paper provides findings from both an in-depth study of a transport setup and a model on information sharing that has been practically tested and validated in an industrial pilot project implementation.
