Effects of shape of stenosis on arterial rheology under the influence of applied magnetic field

Abstract: This study deals with the problem of blood flow through an axially non-symmetric but radially symmetric stenosis, when an externally uniform magnetic field is applied on the flow. The effect of magnetic field is considered in the transverse direction of blood flow and viscosity of blood is taken as radial coordinate dependent. The governing equations of motion have been solved with the help of boundary condition and series method and the expression for the dimensionless resistance to blood flow is derived. The effects of stenosis shape parameter m on the resistance to blood flow for the different magnetic fields are shown graphically. Finally, the significance of the present model over the existing published literature has been pointed out by comparing the results with other theories.
