Abstract: For the watermarking applied in certificate verification, a method to hide information into pictures in certificate that achieves robustness against printing and scanning is proposed in this paper. Aiming at three main distortions during the process of certificate manufacturing, using and verification, the prediction error filter is used in Y component of the colour image's YUV space. A kind of naturally robust watermark pattern is applied to resisting the local and small non-linear distortion. The geometric distortion is corrected by image registration based on Hausdorff distance. Experimental results are given to show the proposed method's performances.
