The concept of Vascular Impedance revisited

Abstract: The concept of Vascular Impedance (VI) comes from Electrical Engineering, where the ratio of two sinusoidal waves define the impediment opposed by a circuit to the passage of current. VI instead starts with two complex temporal waves (blood pressure and flow), from which their simple harmonics are separated out to produce a number of impedance moduli and angles. Electrical engineers often react with doubt; this is experienced in lectures to that audience. The objective herein, addressed to potential disbelievers, is to revisit and mathematically sustain the VI concept. A second objective recalls its potentialities.
