International Journal of Technology Transfer and Commercialisation (IJTTC), Vol. 10, No. 3/4, 2011

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to analyse the role of the speed of internationalisation in terms of the economic performance of born global firms. To that end, this research analyses whether the speed of market entry influences the firms' capacity to develop marketing capabilities. Moreover, this work also analyses the way in which the marketing capabilities of these firms determine their international strategy and their financial performance and how the international precocity influences these firms' choice of entry mode. The results obtained support all the hypotheses formulated in a sample of Spanish born global firms.
