Abstract: This article describes the background to the present ICT situation in education in Denmark. The current major activities initiated by public authorities, primarily the Danish Ministry of Education, and private bodies are listed. Also, the difficulties faced by Danish publishers of educational multimedia are touched upon. We argue that in general Danish schools are at the cutting edge of ICT implementation but much is still left to be done in order to ensure a real impact by the new learning and teaching technologies.
