Abstract: Manually placed links from parts of a web page to other web pages are central to the functioning and organisation of the World Wide Web. However, manual links are limited by the page creator's intent, their knowledge of the particular domain, of the other related pages on WWW, and of the intent of the person who might browse this page in the future. We propose here techniques that can make web browsing more efficient for end users, and increase the relevance and lifespan of web content. Utilising text mining, search and machine learning to dynamically extract content, context, and user intent while browsing, our method generates highly relevant additional links from the current page or paragraph. It may be possible to use this approach for defining meaningful navigation paths within unstructured, non-html, non-web document spaces as well.
