Abstract: In Motion JPEG2000, huge bandwidth requirement of off-chip memory access is the bottleneck in required system performance. For the alleviation of this bandwidth requirement, a low complexity and lossless embedded compression algorithm is devised. And for both random accessibility and low latency, we propose simple and efficient entropy coding algorithm. We achieved significant memory bandwidth reductions (75%), without requiring any modification or performance degradation in JPEG2000 standard algorithm.
